Sharing the beauty of nature and much deliciousness along the Portugese Way (Senda Litoral) and through the middle of the Podiensis / GR65 / Chemin de St Jâcques

Baiona and Vigo

I walked yesterday! Not a massive day, but a long and steep climb over beautiful hills with lots of ferns and pine trees, and then lovely descent (phew) and round the coast into Baiona. Apparently this is where Columbus stopped first to tell the news of the ‘discovery’ of America. So I duly ate some delicious things, did laundry and got myself to Vigo, Samil Playa more exactly, a little out of town. Rest day for the feet, so I took the bus. Vigo is big and built up (main city of Galicia), so am happy to be staying out by the coast. First apartment, so got to buy some groceries which, I must say, I’m not mad about 🤣… Guy arrives soon from his long voyage, so refreshments will be much needed. Tomorrow we 🐾 to Redondela.

Needs must!
The climb was really high…
… really, really high.
Terrain Mougas to Baiona.
Proof of life. Had to put real clothes on to go out to eat yesterday. People dress up in Spain on Sundays!
Not going to complain about tinned scallops…
